29. Kastania

One kilometer past Moni Samouil, there is a fork in the road where the left turn leads to Dasos Vasilikis and the other option is Saidona/Kastania. The road to Dasos Vasilikis is undoubtedly the most adventurous, but it is an unpaved road, the first few hundred meters of which can only be traversed by off-road vehicles. The road leads to Agios Dimitrios at 1600 m and further on to Gytheio on the east coast. The other road leads to Kastania, a stunning mountain village that you absolutely must see.
