26. Moni Vaidenitsas
After Exochori, the road winds further at the foot of Taygetos in a southerly direction around the Vathi Lagadi gorge. There you will find two old monasteries, Moni Vaidenitsas and Moni Samouil, and a ruined fortress, Pyrgos Kitriniari. Both monasteries are certainly worth a visit; services (even weddings!) are still regularly held, and they are very romantic places.
