37. Taÿgetos
Since Kályves is located on the foothills of the highest part of the Taygetos mountain range, the peaks are more or less visible from almost everywhere. The highest peak is Profitis Elias at 2,407 m, making it also the highest mountain on the Peloponnese. This peak is located east of Kályves, about 12 km as the crow flies, but to actually get there, you have to drive about 50 km and then climb another 10 km.
In the immediate vicinity, there are another 7 peaks above 1,900 m, one of which is Chalasmeno (2,204 m high), which you see below on the right and was photographed 1 km northeast of Kolibetseika.
